Mike
Grossi is a gifted athlete with an incredible
future in the sport. He was recently
2nd in the heavyweight class of the
Collegiate Nationals. This DVD is very
comprehensive. It shows the workouts
and determined personality that got
him to that point, but also shows Mike
outside the gym, as a scholar and person.
He is indeed a well rounded
individual.
The
DVD shows all his weekly workouts. He
trains 5 days on, 2 days off. He is
shown training arms (bis and tris),
back and delts, chest and legs (quads,
hams and calves). He was about 240 at
the
time and correctly predicted he would
weigh in around 220 for the Collegiate
show.
Mike
narrates the workouts and does extensive
posing in between sets. He is as intense
in the posing as he is in the exercises.
He explains the importance of diet,
cardio, and drinking lots of
water. Mike usually consumes at least
1.5 gallons daily!
The
DVD concludes with an interview section
which shows Mike to be very sincere
and personable. Down the road, he wants
to be married
with three children, own his own gym
and someday become a pro. He admits
to having almost "no life",
with his studies, training himself and
training clients. Mike owns his own
PT company, Team MG
(check www.mikegrossi.com for information
about his company). And the support
of his girlfriend and parents are extremely
important.
One
strong selling point for this DVD is
how novice or intermediate athletes
in the sport can identify with Mike.
As terrific as the pro DVDs are, very
few currently in the sport will attain
what Ronnie, Jay and the other top pros
have accomplished. Mike is
someone who has accomplished quite a
bit at 22 years old, and will provide
inspiration for others in his age group.
All
in all, thumbs up to a well done DVD.
Highly recommended.
